Kirk Hammet has spoken to Metal Hammer about the upcoming live show to be viewed from your local cinema. This is the live satellite show with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax [wow, I saw these guys all on stage at the Clash of the Titans years ago!!!].

Nice one to boost cinema sales and for fans to get people in on the action BEFORE the band tour in your local province. Think Metallica and co still rawk… now you can make your own minds up! I was surprised that Spain actually was doing it to be honest. It’s not exactly known for its cinema innovation. I’m bowled over!

Lacuna Coil to Play Madrid, let’s hope Barcelona Soon!

Lacuna Coil have announced a date for Madrid 17 September, 2010 at the Riveria but no date yet for Barcelona. On the band’s main site they’ve not updated any recent dates to their concert found elsewhere on the internet. http://www.lacunacoil.it/. Let’s hope Lacuna Coil announce a concert for Barcelona around September!

Placebo Play Barcelona, 22nd June. Razzamatazz 1 or 2?

Placebo, one of my favourite bands are playing Razzamatazz in Barcelona just before St Juan.

What a cool concert for midsummer’s day! It’s a bit uncertain if they’re playing at Razz 1 or 2. On nvivo it says 2, on the placebo homepage it says Razz 1.

I hope it’s Razz 2, having the band up close will be just amazing, but I don’t see it happening!

Although I don’t think Placebo really offer very varied albums since their humble beginnings, I think they are a great live hard rock band.

iTunes Free Festival London 2010: What a Line Up with Ozzy Osbourne, Placebo, Kasabian

There’s a crazy cat free festival happening in London UK, 1-30 July, 2010. It’s the iTunes Festiva with 30 glorious days of FREE music! This  kinda puts other free festivals in Barcelona to shame. I’m bored of the usual safe music I hear at every festival that’s either bad music or bad imitations of other main stream bands.

Sure, people may be influenced by other groups, but unless there’s something different, why bother? Get the real band and and get them to play! Let’s hope Steve Jobs influences the iTunes concert to come to Barcelona! Face it, we need it!

Rant aside, there’s an excellent free festival happening up in my old stomping ground Chalk Farm. [That’s the real Camden Town if ya didn’t know] @ the Roundhouse. It’s a largish venue but intimate enough to really soak in one of your fav bands”

Excellent bands across genres will be playing and there’s more to be announced. Here’s a tasty line up! Oh and did I say it’s for free? Yeah, but ya have to enter a competition to enter and have iTunes installed or it don’t work 😦
